Curiosity as a driving force
Discover the inspiring journey of Rebecca, Management Referent at Norauto. Having entered the automotive world by chance, she has forged her path there for over 20 years. A mother of three, she overcame prejudices and difficulties to become a pillar of her center. Her story proves that curiosity and the desire to learn open all doors.

Chronological journey
The desire for independence

The desire for independence
Rebecca's childhood was not a smooth ride. With parents who separated very early and a father often away on business, she grew up quickly among her siblings. Her main goal? To gain her independence. After a two-year degree in executive assistance, she turned to sales. During her first work-study program in mass retail, she worked as a cashier. Realizing that the career prospects did not meet her expectations, she chose to leave her job, even if it meant losing her degree, to find a path where she could thrive.
A foot in the automotive industry

A foot in the automotive industry
Registered at Pôle Emploi, she was offered a three-month replacement position at Max Auto. The automotive world didn't appeal to her at all, but the job included reception and accounting. She accepted. At the end of her contract, the boss refused to let her go. Rebecca, driven by her desire to move forward, negotiated a permanent contract of at least 25 hours. A few months later, the brand was bought by Norauto. It was the start of an adventure that has lasted for over twenty years.
A thirst for learning

A thirst for learning
Transferred to Grande-Synthe to be closer to home, Rebecca had to deal with absences in the team and found herself at the workshop reception. She knew nothing about mechanics. Rather than giving up, she decided to learn. During quiet moments, she went into the workshop, observed the technicians, and asked questions to understand what a ball joint or a shock absorber looked like. This curiosity allowed her to master her environment and become versatile.
Overcoming prejudices

Overcoming prejudices
Being a woman in the automotive industry is not always easy. Rebecca had to deal with customers refusing to be served by a woman or doubting her technical advice. At the same time, as a single mom of three, she had to juggle her family life and the demanding hours of retail. Fortunately, she was able to benefit from flexible hours. This approach illustrates Norauto's desire to support parenthood and adapt to the different life paths of its employees. Empowered by this support, she held on and kept moving forward.
Passing it on

Passing it on
Today, Rebecca is a Management Referent. She ensures the smooth running of the center, controls procedures, and prevents fraud. A behind-the-scenes job, but an essential one. After exploring all facets of retail, she now aspires to share her experience. Her new challenge? Becoming an internal trainer to support new employees and pass on what she has learned throughout her career.

Her job
The Management Referent is the guarantor of rules and procedures within a center. They control administrative operations, verify cash receipts, manage financing files, and ensure there are no errors or fraud. It is a job that requires rigor, organization, and an excellent knowledge of all the inner workings of the company.
Her commitments and values
For Rebecca, work is above all a state of mind. She is convinced that you must always look for the positive in what you do to thrive. She encourages young people to be curious, not to wait for others to do things for them, and to rely on caring mentors to grow.

What Rebecca shares:
"No matter what job you do, you have to look for the positive in what you do to be able to move forward."
"There is always someone who will lift you up."
"It's important to know how to do things, to not depend on others."
