Too many children, whether boys or girls, with disabilities, from underprivileged neighborhoods, rural areas, or far from school, do not have access to inspiring figures. This is especially true in tech, industry, and science, where sexism and preconceived ideas hold back emerging talent.

The 1001 role models movement
Initiated by OVHcloud and 1001 Diversités, 1001 Role Models is a movement led by the 1001 Diversites association. This movement aims to highlight inspiring journeys to break stereotypes and open up possibilities for young people in tech, industry, and science, and beyond. Through personalized stories, we enable every child to envision their future without barriers. A topic more relevant than ever as the minister highlights!
Our ambition
With 1001 Role Models, our ambition is to inspire, spark imagination, and help everyone project themselves into the future. We gather thousands of inspiring journeys from around the world, turn them into career sheets, and link them to customizable stories, freely available online on computer, tablet, or smartphone.
Each role model embodies a profession, a passion, a life path often marked by challenges and stereotypes—especially sexism—that they have overcome. By drawing on these stories, we create customizable narratives to fight bias and stereotypes and show that every journey matters, whatever one’s background, gender, or environment.
Our conviction: by showing the diversity of what’s possible, we give children—and adults—the keys to dream, envision themselves, and dare to say “Why not me?”.

How does it work?
When an organization donates to the 1001 Diversites association, it enables the creation of role models and personalized stories available as open data on the platform.

We collect the testimony of a role model during an interview about their journey, what they are passionate about, and what they have experienced and want to share with the rest of the world.

We build on this testimony to construct a story based on a strong idea that will guide the narrative arc. For example: follow your passions, believe in yourself, and more.

1001 Diversités creates a personalized story that enables users, young and old, to make choices together to fight bias and dismantle stereotypes.
