Laure La Haye: daring to claim her place, anywhere in the world
Originally from Tourcoing, Laure La Haye studied in Lille and then in England before joining a Heineken graduate program. In thirteen years, she has worked in several countries on a range of topics: production, quality, logistics, planning, digitalization and operations. Now based in Amsterdam, she organizes customer relations on a global scale. Her journey also speaks to parenthood, impostor syndrome and boldness.
Timeline
Chronological journey
Leaving to learn

Leaving to learn
Laure La Haye grew up in Tourcoing. In high school, her parents moved to Belgium. She then completed preparatory classes in Lille before joining Centrale Lille. To work internationally, she went to England to complete a dual degree and learn English.
Her master’s in supply chain management brought together 50 students from 34 nationalities. She wanted to keep exploring. A counselor told her about graduate programs, which make it possible to discover several professions in different countries. She applied to Heineken and was accepted.
A career in motion

A career in motion
During her graduate program, Laure La Haye went to the Congo, then Austria and Vietnam. There, she successively discovered production, quality and brewing.
She then continued her journey in Indonesia, where she worked on logistics, planning and manufacturing lines. At 23, she managed five people, then led 70 people in Malaysia across storage, delivery and customer relations.
After six months of traveling in Asia and an assignment in Amsterdam on brewery digitalization, she became Operations Director in Germany for two and a half years. For the past two years, she has been based in Amsterdam and has organized global customer relations.
Daring and turning difference into a strength

Daring and turning difference into a strength
In Vietnam, Laure La Haye dared to ask for fifteen minutes with a director overseeing operations in Asia. He told her about an opportunity in Indonesia. There, a manager trusted her with her first supervisory role, despite her young age and lack of experience. She learned on the job.
She also emphasizes the importance of mentoring: she has always had an internal mentor, who knows the company, and an external mentor, who brings a more neutral perspective. Both help her step back, without deciding for her.
Laure La Haye has experienced impostor syndrome and comments about the effect of motherhood on her career. She explains that a position of responsibility and family life are compatible, with organization and the right framework. She advises not letting prejudices decide for you.
Living between several horizons and passing things on

Living between several horizons and passing things on
Laure La Haye has lived in ten countries and now lives in Amsterdam with her partner and their two children.
Coordinated schedules and time for outings, friends, shows and travel help her preserve her balance. For Laure La Haye, becoming a parent does not mean disappearing behind that role. She encourages young people to believe in what they can bring, to ask for help and to explore unfamiliar professions.

Her job
Laure La Haye is responsible for customer relations worldwide at Heineken. Her team informs customers, organizes deliveries, solves problems and gathers feedback to improve their experience. She supports teams based in different countries. This role comes into play before and after purchase, unlike sales teams, which focus on selling.
Her commitments and values
Laure La Haye stands for boldness, international curiosity, mentoring and self-confidence. She encourages young people not to let prejudices linked to gender, age or background define their choices. She also reminds us that success can take several forms and that it is legitimate to seek a balance between professional responsibilities, parenthood, travel and personal life.

What Loreleï shares:
“Dare. Because actually, it works. And if it doesn’t work, so what, it doesn’t work.”
“It’s important to trust yourself and say: this specific thing, I can bring it, and someone else can’t bring it.”
“You mustn’t rely on prejudice, because otherwise, in fact, you end up doing nothing.”
