Red boxing gloves placed on a computer desk with a computer displaying code and a technical alert, symbolizing resilience and crisis management in IT – profile of Amanda Robitaille, IT Director at OVHcloud

Turning crises into solutions, and doubts into strength.

Amanda works in a fast-paced environment: technology, teams, decisions. Her role? To ensure that even when everything seems stuck, a solution appears. Yet, she didn’t follow a "set path." She doubted, changed course, learned differently. Her story shows that you can start far away, not have the perfect diploma, and still find your place — by staying true to your values and daring to move forward.

Chronological journey

Growing up without giving up

Growing up without giving up

Amanda grew up in Haute-Marne, raised by a courageous mother after losing her father at the age of 2. At school, everything went well… until she started asking too many questions. Labels were put on her. She doubted, rebelled, but deep down, she remained curious and passionate. She didn’t know it yet, but this inner strength would become her driving force.

Changing course without losing direction

Changing course without losing direction

A good student, Amanda was directed towards a scientific track… but she didn’t understand the purpose of mathematics. She passed her baccalaureate on the second attempt and ultimately chose history at university. The first year was difficult, far from her family, in a small student room. She decided to stop and started working. What she liked? Helping others. She discovered that she learns quickly and can progress without following a “classic” path.

Daring to enter tech

Daring to enter tech

Later, almost by chance, an opportunity opened up in IT. She had no technical diploma, but she worked hard to learn the basics. Surrounded by supportive mentors, she discovered a profession where she could connect people, manage crises, and simplify chaos. Little by little, she took on responsibilities, led teams, and understood that her difference was a strength. She finally found her place.

Her job

Her job

Today, Amanda is IT Director in charge of operations and IT service management practices at OVHcloud. In concrete terms, this means she helps technical teams manage incidents and crisis moments, when a service stops working or a major change must be implemented. Her role is not only technical. She organizes, coordinates, reassures. She removes obstacles so engineers can focus on the solution. It’s a job where you must keep calm when everything speeds up, understand quickly, decide quickly… and above all, work as a team. In a world where digital is everywhere — in schools, hospitals, companies — her work is essential: it allows online services to keep running, even when there is a problem.

Her commitments and values

Amanda deeply believes that a person’s value is not defined by a diploma or a label. She advocates the idea that everyone can find their place, even outside the “set paths.” She also holds a strong conviction: values are not declared, they are lived. Respect, mutual aid, the right to make mistakes, and kindness are, for her, essential to progress — both in a team and in life. Her driving force? Helping others grow, connecting different people, and proving that you can stay yourself, even in a demanding field like tech.
