Leaving the military without losing the thread
In 2019, Côme left the military after seven years of training and service, even though his career seemed well underway. The decision took him from leading a platoon of Chasseurs Alpins to a role at OVH, where he implements processes to make teams' work easier. His story shows that a path can change shape without losing its meaning: sometimes you have to ask questions, listen, and dare to start again.

Preparing for a calling

Preparing for a calling
From childhood, Côme wanted a military career. After earning a science-track baccalaureate with a mathematics option and completing two years of science preparatory classes, he passed the Saint-Cyr entrance exam. His choice was not purely academic: by entering the school, he became a member of the military and began a program combining an academic degree, leadership training, and preparation for the role of an officer. In this way, a calling became the beginning of his professional life.
From the classroom to the field

From the classroom to the field
At Saint-Cyr, Côme completed three years of training, specializing in mechanical engineering and spending one semester at Polytechnique in Palaiseau. He then specialized in infantry before becoming a platoon commander with the Chasseurs Alpins in Chambéry. For three years, he led around forty people, with responsibilities spanning training, personnel management and missions. In Mali, he worked alongside a Malian unit for four and a half months, in direct contact with local authorities and communities.
Daring to change careers

Daring to change careers
After seven years in the army, Côme chose to leave in 2019. It was a difficult decision: he was doing well and had promising prospects ahead of him, but his day-to-day work was no longer fulfilling enough. He became more confident in his decision, although it was not always understood, by talking to those close to him, who helped him think it through. He then moved to Lille, where he met Thomas, who helped him connect his military experience with the civilian world and explain how the different stages of his journey fit together.
Connecting his experiences

Connecting his experiences
In civilian life, he worked as a project manager in heavy industry, then in the pharmaceutical industry and at OVH. He later became a production manager before moving into a data center role, where he implements processes for teams. This path was not mapped out in advance, but each stage draws on what he has learned: how to organize, decide, support, and help people work together. Today, his main goal is to make work simpler and easier to understand.
Sport as a way to push himself
Sport as a way to push himself
Sport has been part of Côme’s life since childhood. He practiced judo, tennis and, above all, volleyball before turning more toward triathlon. Through sport, he seeks to push beyond his limits, embrace hard work and meet others. After changing careers, he wanted to break out of his sporting routine and set himself a two-year plan: a half marathon, a trail race, a marathon and then an Ironman. At the height of his preparation, he trains for around fifteen hours a week. His races are also a way to support an organization and give his challenge a sense of purpose.

His work
In his data center role at OVH, Côme strives to make life easier for teams. He builds frameworks to ensure that requests are visible, priorities are clear, and everyone knows what action to take. In practical terms, he provides teams with the tools to organize their work and make sure they can complete the tasks assigned to them, then reschedule or scale them back when that is not possible.
Depending on the needs and challenges at hand, he creates processes and tools to support operational teams in their day-to-day work and guides them through the rollout of these projects. He alternates between working independently on design and holding discussions on site. Rigor, curiosity, empathy and vision are essential.
His commitments and values
For Côme, pushing himself goes hand in hand with sharing. He is training for an Ironman representing the Fondation Jérôme Lejeune; his fundraiser has already raised more than €2,000. He is also building a platform to connect athletes and organizations around health, education, and culture.
His advice to young people is to dare to ask questions, accept that the answer may be no, aim high, and remain humble.

What Côme shares:
I thrive on connecting with others, exchanging ideas, discovering new things, and sharing. I also need to keep moving forward, continue growing, and push my limits.
