Sam Dahmani, French Tech Lille

Create, share, connect: Sam mode activated

Sam is a bit like a geek superhero wearing two hats: tech in one hand, the human side in the other. He has started companies, connected countries to fiber, created video games, launched nonprofits and advised startups… all while talking manga, jazz and equal opportunities at home.

His mission? To put his superpowers at the service of others, always with passion, humor, and conviction.

Timeline

Chronological journey

The Internet is magical!

Sam Dahmani, French Tech Lille

The Internet is magical!

Sam grew up in a house where tech was part of the family. His dad was a computer science teacher, and they already had Internet at home in 1994! Back then, it made a strange noise when you connected, but Sam found it magical. He also enjoyed playing the piano, reading manga, and daydreaming while watching science fiction films.

Set off and discover

After his studies in computer science, he goes to London to learn even more, then flies to Scandinavia for his first job: installing fiber to connect an entire country, Sweden!

Entrepreneurship?

Entrepreneurship?

Then Sam changes course: he starts a music video company with friends. Their work is so good that a client buys the company. He then returns to the North, learns Japanese (yes, really!), and becomes president of an association which he revitalizes with energy. What he likes best? Bringing people together.

From video game studio to French Tech

He didn’t stop there: he launched a video game studio, went through two major growth phases, and sold his company. It was at that moment that he discovered French Tech, a network that helps startups. Since then, Sam has used everything he learned to help others succeed in turn.

Their commitments and values

Their commitments and values

Sam strongly believes in simple but important things: respect, equality, and solidarity.

He believes that everyone should have the same opportunities, regardless of whether one is a girl or a boy, or whether one lives in the countryside or the city. That's why he created an association to encourage girls to believe in themselves and to dare to do what they love, even in fields like tech.

He also defends the idea that you can succeed while staying true to your values, by helping others and working with passion. For him, the most important thing is not to be the strongest, but to move things forward together, with common sense and kindness.

What Sam shares with you:

"I tell my daughter that she can do what she loves and believe in her dreams, even if they seem a little crazy at first.""When you're passionate, you respect others and stay true to what you believe, you can go very far."

And as his lifelong hero, Uncle Ben in Spider-Man, taught him:🕸️ "With great power comes great responsibility."

Their profession

Today, Sam has a somewhat special job: he helps people who start businesses meet, support one another, and succeed.

You could say he's a connector of ideas and people. He organizes events, offers advice, showcases talent, and builds bridges between those who have projects and those who can help them. He doesn't sell products; he cultivates ecosystems, like a gardener of innovation!

His goal? For everyone to be able to create, grow, and succeed in a fairer, more supportive, and more fun world.
