Changing direction without losing the thread
Quentin has already lived several lives: elite athlete, army reservist, student in several cities, consultant, then specialist in industrial risk management. At OVHcloud, he helped create a department that did not yet exist. His path shows that a trajectory does not need to be linear to become coherent: his common thread is the desire to understand, to decide, and to have a concrete impact.
Timeline
Chronological journey
A curiosity that creates momentum

A curiosity that creates momentum
Originally from Le Touquet in northern France, Quentin started playing field hockey at a young age, a sport he still plays, and became a French international player. He also explored music and other sports. At 18, he began serving as an army reservist, a commitment he would continue for around fifteen years. His educational path then wound through science, geography, urban planning, environmental engineering and business school. This dual expertise enables him to engage with industry by connecting environmental issues, management and economic realities. He does not follow a predetermined path: he tries, learns, changes environments and looks for what can help him progress.
Creating a role at OVHcloud

Creating a role at OVHcloud
After his studies, Quentin worked in several industrial sectors, including waste, chemicals, and oil, then spent around ten years in consulting. In 2018, he took part in the transition of French industrial sites located in overseas territories. He then joined OVHcloud, which offered him the opportunity to help create an industrial risk management department. For the past four years, he has worked mainly from Roubaix within the Industrial Risk Compliance teams. His role is to structure practices, improve compliance, and build a coherent view of risks across facilities. He identifies hazards, assesses scenarios, and coordinates the necessary expertise to put control measures in place.
Detours become a strength

Detours become a strength
Quentin does not see his non-linear path as a flaw, but as a strength. His experience in sport, the military, education, industry and consulting allows him to approach the same problem from different angles. This enables him to compare approaches, step back from a team's habits and propose new solutions.
His journey has nevertheless been marked by hardship. In particular, a serious accident kept him away from working life for a year. Today, Quentin walks with a leg prosthesis, without this diminishing his drive, his ambitions or his professional convictions. Determined, he keeps moving forward and looking for ways to bring his projects to life.
Dare, then learn

Dare, then learn
Quentin’s advice comes down to two ideas: trust yourself and dare to try. Making a decision always carries the possibility of being wrong, but mistakes can become a source of learning. He encourages young people to try, to adjust their direction, and not to let a negative answer decide for them. In his own path, he has often bounced back when the job, the management, or the working conditions no longer matched what mattered to him.

His job
At OVHcloud, Quentin is a Risk and Compliance Engineer. The role combines industrial risk management and regulatory compliance for facilities. It involves identifying hazards, assessing scenarios, proposing control measures, and coordinating the necessary expertise. The title is specific to OVHcloud; in other organizations, the responsibilities could be similar to those of an industrial risk management manager and an industrial legal specialist.
His commitments and values
Quentin advocates a practical approach to industrial environments: understanding obligations, measuring risks, persuading with the right arguments and moving solutions forward. He values curiosity, versatility, self-confidence, collective work and the ability to learn from mistakes. His account of the accident and his return to work should be read carefully: he describes his personal experience, without claiming to speak on behalf of all people with disabilities.

What Quentin shares:
“You have to trust yourself; above all, you have to dare.”
“Mistakes aren’t a big deal. On the contrary, when you make mistakes, you learn.”
“There’s a problem, so we need to find a solution.”
