Turning a challenge into a driving force for the future
Guillaume had to reinvent his way of seeing the world at just 17. Where many would have doubted, he turned that sudden rupture into a strength: learning, understanding, adapting, and building with others.
His journey is marked by an intact curiosity, a deep desire to improve the world around him and to make tools more accessible.
His story shows that with the right encounters and an open mind, you can chart a path that wasn’t planned — and make something exceptional of it.

Adaptation

Adaptation
At 17, Guillaume loses his central vision in just three weeks. He has to give up reading normally, recognizing faces, riding a bike… but very quickly decides he will not give up on his future. Thanks to his high school friends who record classes on cassette tapes, and then to a few people from the nonprofit world, he discovers that a path remains possible, even though nothing is adapted. This period becomes his first major lesson: learning to adapt in order to keep moving forward.
Finding one's path despite obstacles

Finding one's path despite obstacles
Despite the doubts surrounding him, Guillaume chooses to try the scientific preparatory classes. He learns to work differently, using magnification tools and a great deal of organization. In England, at Cambridge, he discovers a more inclusive approach and realizes that he can go much further than he had been led to imagine. Those years show him that an obstacle is not an end, but a call to invent his own method.
Building for others

Building for others
Upon entering the workforce, Guillaume participates in projects that truly change people's lives: digitizing books, improving web accessibility, and creating modern audio formats. Long active in volunteer organizations, he contributes to making reading accessible to thousands of people with visual impairments. His career path then leads him to data, where he rediscovers what has always driven him: solving problems and helping others grow.
Their commitments and values

Their commitments and values
Guillaume deeply believes in the power of organization, mutual aid, and accessibility. His disability taught him to see what others do not perceive: the importance of detail, the simple actions that make a tool or a place truly usable for everyone. He advocates the idea that everyone should be able to find their place, provided they are helped to find the right path and dare to ask for help.

“When you want to do something, find the way to make it possible.”
“Never be afraid to ask for help: it is a strength, not a weakness.”
“Organize your space and your work: it’s the best tool for maintaining confidence.”

Their profession
Guillaume now works in data at OVHcloud. His role is to improve platforms, tools and ways of working so teams can process and understand huge volumes of information. What he loves is seeing an idea become a tool that truly helps others. His work matters because it enables the creation of more reliable, more useful, and more accessible products — while helping teams become autonomous and confident.
