Protecting others, even when no one is watching.
Caroline Chopin practices a discreet but essential profession: she ensures every day that women, men, and the environment are protected at the heart of the chemical industry. Her role is to anticipate risks, set clear frameworks, and make safety a shared responsibility, not a constraint. Curious, rigorous, and deeply human, she embodies another image of scientific professions: committed, concrete, and useful. Her journey shows that one can transform vulnerabilities into strengths and find their place in demanding environments, even when they do not fit the stereotypes.
Timeline
Chronological journey
A fragile and curious childhood

A fragile and curious childhood
From birth, Caroline faced serious health problems that tired her and often kept her away from school. She sometimes doubted herself, especially when learning became difficult. But her curiosity was already there: she took things apart, tested, observed, and sought to understand how things worked. Very early on, she understood that her fragility did not prevent her determination.
Fighting to learn and choose

Fighting to learn and choose
In high school, a major operation disrupted her schooling and she was even advised to give up the year. Caroline refused this idea: she wanted to study, progress, and live fully. She held on, caught up on her delays, and obtained her scientific baccalaureate with honors. This ordeal made her realize that she could surpass what others thought possible for her.
Finding her place and giving meaning

Finding her place and giving meaning
By studying chemistry, Caroline discovered a concrete, useful profession at the heart of daily life. As a young woman in a very male-dominated environment, she had to earn her legitimacy step by step, never giving up. Over time, she transformed her demands and tenacity into strengths to protect others and the environment. Today, she knows that one can build a solid career while remaining true to their values.
Her commitments and values
Caroline is guided by a strong conviction: caring for others is a collective responsibility. Her personal journey has made her very attentive to health, safety, and the place of everyone, especially people with disabilities. She advocates the idea that one can be demanding without being harsh, and that kindness is not incompatible with industrial professions with high stakes. Committed to more diversity, she also acts to show girls and young women that science and industry are possible, legitimate, and useful paths.

“Trust yourself, even when others doubt for you.”
“Don’t be afraid to make mistakes: understanding your errors helps you progress faster.”
“Own who you are, your strengths as well as your vulnerabilities, they can become assets.”
